Buongiorno Roma!

After we left all the distraught, sad parents and friends in tumut we headed on our amazing journey to come.

Our first stop was Sutton Forest where we met with a familiar face, Mr Deitz and two little bunnies to wish us a happy easter and a safe trip.

The next stop was at Sydney International Airport, where we arrived at 4pm and didnt check in till 6pm, so the majority of us enjoyed some shopping and relaxing. Luke was teeming with joy as the under 20s Warriors were passing through the airport at a same time.

We went through customs, filled our bellies and boarded the plane at 9pm ready for our long 14 and a half hour journey to come.

It was a very exciting experience for most of us who either had not been on Planes or even left NSW. The movies and suprisingly edible plane food kept most of us happy and entertained. The majority could not sleep on the plane, getting only one hour or less, although Millie got a solid 9 hours sleep making sure Luke and Sophie could not get more then 10 minutes.

We arrived in Dubai at 6am local time, which confuzzled most of our minds as travelling 14 hours but only 8 passing made it seem very long and arduous. The airport gave us the oppotunity to experience a taste of the muslim culture and handling different currencies, as well as a chance to relax before our next 6 hour flight to ROME!

The stunning scenery from the plane windows to Rome made the trip fly by much quicker then the last. The snow capped mountains and amazing landscape blew our minds!

We arrvived in Rome, collected our luggage and experienced a quick taste of the city on our bus tour, seeing many famous monuments including the Colesseum which made the experience very real! Also seeing a wonderful display of parking methods (for example double parking in a single lane street :/...)
We booked into our Hotel and went on a short walk around the Roman streets. We went to a local supermarket where prices were very different, 26c per bottle of water! From here we walked to the St Maria degli Angeli e Dei Martiri Basilica, from the outside it looked dull and small but inside it had height and amazing paintings and statues, Mr V challenged us to walk in without saying WOW but everyone failed. After a bit of what felt like playing chicken in the chaotic traffic we saw a gold plated fancy McDonalds, walked a little more and arrived back at our Hotel ready for some dinner. We went to a small Italian Restaurant for dinner, the food was great and filled our hungry little bellies.
We went back to the Hotel, collapsed after our 38 hour day spanning over 3 countries.
